The JAG Fund Winter Gala.

Help increase awareness and raise funds for brain tumor research in the name of Joel A. Gingras, Jr.

The JAG Fund was established in 1989 in memory of Joel A. Gingras Jr. who at the age of 27 lost

his battle against a brain tumor. The mission of the FAG Fund is to build awareness and raise funds

for brain tumor research. Since 1989, the organization has donated over $1,100,000 to the American

Brain Tumor Association (ABTA). In its early stages, fundraising events consisted solely of an

annual Tube Float down the Delaware River. Over the years, the JAG Fund has evolved into a

formidable fundraising organization through the establishment of new events. While the Tube Float still

exists, the fundraising has expanded to a golf outing and the annual black-tie gala in Philadelphia. The

real force behind our fundraising success is the tremendous generosity of our long-time sponsors, the

commitment of our individual fundraisers and the willingness of new people to get involved.

Leilas Gallery has donated a painting entitled "Autumn Path" by Christina Ergemlidze to this event. It is available for online bidding now and will go to live auction on the night of the event at the Union League in Philadelphia. The proceeds go to the JAG Fund. about LEILA BAKASHVILI GALLERY first opened its doors in the winter of 2007. The gallery was founded by Leila Bakashvili, a well known painter in the Lambertville/Bucks County area. Although she had been showing in a range of galleries all over the east coast for more then ten years then, she wanted a place she could display all and any of her work when ever she wanted. Surprised at her own success, the gallery soon became the primary place for Leilas art. After her passing in 2009 the gallery was passed down to the artists daughter, who also happened to be a painter. Today the gallery is owned and operated by Christina Ergemlidze whos works can be found sharing the wall space with her mothers.

Opening Aug. 28th 4pm to 9pmRunning from Aug. 28 to Sep. 3To celebrate the life and works of Leila Bakashvili, the gallery will display eleven never before shown paintings by the artist. The show will primarily focus on five pieces recently acquired from England after their three year absence from America. The pieces had been left there after Bakashvilis 2007 show at the Georgian embassy in London. After her death in 2009, arrangements were made to get the paintings home. They were finally returned on July 31st.

LBAKASHVILI Originally born in the Republic of Georgia on December 5 1961, Leila studied to become a doctor of medicine at a local university in Tbilisi. She received her MD only to never practice medicine a day of her life, instead she devoted her life to art. In 1997 she moved to America and continued to pursue her art career here in the states. She began to participate in group shows in New Hope, Lambertville, Peddlers Village and New York. Her paintings became increasingly popular over the next ten years, so much so that in December of 2007 Leila decided to open her own gallery in Lambertville. Leila passed away on August 27 2009 from cancer. She left behind over 1000 paintings.It is hard to describe Leilas paintings, mostly because they should not be described, they should be seen. In each of them is a small piece of her you have the privilege of viewing. They cast warmth over their viewer. Each is beautiful and classic as she was. Some are very small and some very big but each more tender and lovely then the next. Her color pallet consists of warm pinks and sky blues mixed in with a hundred shades of almost every color imaginable. There is nothing in nature that is one color she used to say, it is not natural to paint it so. Even in something as small as a rock painted into a landscape you will see her determination to include as many colors as possible. One can see the influences of some of the greatest impressionist painters in her work, but somehow they are still very much one of a kind pieces.Most of Leilas works have been sold. They are in the homes of private collectors as well as many individuals. Her paintings also hang in the private collections in The Palace of Monaco and The White House. CHRISTINA ERGEMLIDZE

Christina Ergemlidze was born in Tbilisi, Georgia on December 11, 1987. She is the current owner of Leilas Gallery, where her unique impressionistic paintings are available. Ergemlidze loved painting starting at a young age, and this love ripened into a recognized talent. Ergemlidze paints landscapes that are dominated by the use of light to capture the most beautiful natural moments. Her art conveys a sense of simplicity and serenity that is contradicted by the complexity of each piece. Her varied pallet of color and use of brushstrokes create work that can be fully appreciated with attention to its detail.
