I would like to thank
Leila for the opportunity to express in this simple website my
appreciation
of her talent first of all as an artist, and also as a
composer and poet. I invite you to acquaint
yourself with this
extraordinary person whose character is so unlike that of the times we
live in.
Leila is full with optimism and warmth; she is always glad to
offer her help to those in need.
The poet, Janet Mock, conveys her
feelings about Leila in the following verse:
Fluid voice, soulful
eyes
Delicate lips, soft, wistful
Form words, words from the
past
Bass tones emerge, and combine
From a sad guitar and echoed
lines
Exotic words unknown, language escapes me
But the barrier is
lost as she sways, singing her poetry
